Route 66 - 07.01.08

Today we did not drive very far down the road except we put on about 200 miles. It was about 80 miles one way to the Grand Canyon and oh my what a sight. We were in awe and spent about 5 hours touring this magnificant marvel. We did spend about 40 minutes in and IMAX looking at a movie about the canyon that was a real primer. For people staying home because of gas there was certainly a big crowd with parking at a primium at the look out spots. There were people from all over the world here. After touring the canyon we only drove a few miles down the road to see if we could take advantage of a smaller town and less costly lodging. The place we stayed last night was not 1st class and very noisy. Tonight we are at another local lodging place in Williams AZ at $59 for the night and much quieter.
