Route 66 - 7/15

Today Ainslie and I really had some fun. It started with riding on a Jetboat on the Rogue River put on by Hellgate Jetboat Excursions. We boarded our boat at 9:45 and went downstream having a great lunch and returning three hours later. These boats were powered by 3 454 Chevy engines each with 325 horsepower reaching speeds of 60 mph. What was the most fun was the spins and sudden stops that got everyone wet. We would do that again in a heart beat. From her we went to Crater Lake. The lake was beautiful but the smoke from fires caused some limited visiblity. What a surprise to find one of the roads was still closed because of the amount of snow still left in the area.

One of the jobs that has to be done is laundry. I met the nicest woman, Rendi, when I did our laundry today at Laundry Haven in Oakridge OR where we are spending the evening. I took a picture and will post it on our photo site. The place we are staying is the Oakridge Motel and is quite simple but nice and clean and very reasonably priced. Ainslie enjoyed getting to sleep in as they have a noon checkout.
